Is it a ferris wheel?

No. The title says ferris wheel, but it's a carousel with figures spinning round inside and a projector that casts stars onto the ceiling. Look at the product photos, they show exactly what you get.
What does it do?

Three things: the carousel inside spins round, music plays, and coloured spots of light are projected onto the ceiling and walls. The buttons on top switch between the functions, and they're big enough for a small child to press themselves.
Does it need batteries?

Yes, 3 AAA batteries, and they aren't included. Buy them in advance if the carousel is being wrapped for a christening or a birthday. It's a present that really should work that same evening.
Can it stay on all night?

The maker states neither a timer nor a playing time, so we won't promise it switches off by itself. Expect to use it while your child falls asleep and switch it off afterwards.
