Materials, care and size

MATERIALS
Wood with a see-through surface and a magnet pen.

SIZE
The board measures 29.8 x 29.8 cm. The magnet pen is about 5 cm and hangs on a cord.

COLOUR NAMES
The colours on the board are written in ENGLISH: Blue, Green, Gray, Orange, Purple and Red. The task itself, matching colour and number, works in any language, but the names aren't Danish.

AGE
The maker doesn't give an age. The play usually works from about three, when your child can control the pen.

POWER
None. It's all mechanical.

CARE
Wipe with a slightly damp cloth. Don't put the board in water.

SAFETY
The balls are sealed under the surface and can't be taken out in normal use. If the board breaks it should be thrown away. Loose magnets and small balls don't belong with a child.

Can the balls fall out?

No. They're held under a clear panel and are only moved with the magnet pen from outside. That's what makes the board usable in a car or on a sofa, where loose pieces would disappear.

What is the task?

The balls have to be drawn through the maze and down into the channel that matches their colour and number. There are obstacles on the way, so your child has to find a route. That's what makes it more than just sorting.

What age is it for?

The maker doesn't give an age. What matters is that your child can hold the pen and steer a ball, usually from about three. Older children get more out of the number and colour matching.

Is the magnet pen attached?

Yes, it hangs on a cord on the board so it doesn't get lost. It's a small detail, but it's the one that decides whether a game like this can still be used in six months.
