THE GAME
This is the classic 'Shut the Box'. You roll the dice and close that total with the tiles, either as one number or as several numbers added together. Whoever closes the most tiles wins.

AGE
The maker doesn't give an age. The game works as soon as your child can count the dots on two dice and add them up, usually from about five.

CARE

How do you play?

You roll the two dice and then close tiles that add up to the total. Roll an 8 and you can close 8, or 5 and 3, or 6 and 2. You keep going until you can't make the total, and then it's the next player's turn.
What does it teach?

Adding up in more than one way. That's really the heart of the game: there's rarely only one way to close a total, so your child starts looking for combinations instead of counting on their fingers.
