Rinse the kayak in fresh water after use in chlorinated or salt water, and wipe it dry. The remote mustn't go in water.

Use it with an adult nearby. A toy on the water must never become a reason for a child to go into water they can't stand up in.
Where can it sail?

The maker mentions the bath, a pool, a lake and the beach. In practice it works best in still water, a pool or a calm lake. In waves and current at the beach it's too light to hold a course.
Does it need batteries?

The kayak charges over USB and the cable is included. The remote does need 2 AAA batteries, which aren't in the pack. Buy them in advance if the kayak is being wrapped for a birthday.
How long does it sail on a charge?

The maker doesn't say, unfortunately, and we won't guess at a number. Email us before you order if it matters, for instance if it's going on a week's holiday without easy access to power.
Can it be used in the bath?

Yes, but it's small enough that a bath quickly becomes too cramped to steer in. It comes into its own in a pool, a tub in the garden or at a calm lakeside where there's room to turn.
