What's the difference between the three sets?

Only the number of pieces. 83 pieces is the basic set, where your child builds one structure at a time. 165 pieces allows bigger builds with more moving parts. 203 is the largest and covers the builds you see in the photos, with a track and several towers at once.
How do the cogs work?

The pieces click together on a base plate, and the cogs mesh with each other as you go. When your child turns one wheel, the connected pieces turn too, including ones some distance away. That's where the understanding of cause and effect arrives all by itself.
What age is it for?

The set contains small parts and isn't suitable for children under 3 without an adult nearby. The building itself, getting the cogs to mesh, suits children with the patience to experiment, and it only gets more fun with age.
What does it teach?
