Calmer nights from the first cry

Your baby stirs awake crying in the middle of the night and you're wide awake before you've even reached the cot.

Picking them up every single time just to resettle them leaves you exhausted and makes it harder for your baby to learn to self-soothe.

This owl-shaped soother listens for crying and automatically plays one of 30 gentle sounds to help settle your baby back to sleep.

One soother instead of three gadgets

Buying a separate night light, a timer and a sound machine means more cables, more boxes and more clutter on the nursery shelf.

Juggling three different plugs and remotes at 2am is the last thing a tired parent wants to deal with.

This little owl combines a warm breathing night light, 30 soothing sounds and a 30/60/90 minute auto-off timer in one rechargeable unit.

Soothing sounds wherever you go

Leaving a bulky sound machine at home means bedtime routines fall apart the moment you're away from the cot.

Carrying a bigger speaker from room to room, or trying to recreate the same routine in a hotel cot, rarely works as well.

A soft strap and clip let it hang from a cot rail, pram handle or changing bag, so the same sounds travel everywhere with you.

Materials, care & sizing

Materials
· Durable ABS shell shaped like a sleepy owl, with soft-touch control buttons on the front.
· Built-in rechargeable 800mAh lithium battery, charged via a USB-C port on the base.

Sizing
· Compact at roughly 12 x 10 x 7cm and just 160g, light enough to clip onto a cot rail or pram bar.
· One size fits all, with a flexible strap and clip-on ring included.

Care
· Wipe the outer shell with a soft, slightly damp cloth; never submerge it in water.
· Store it with the strap looped through the clip so it doesn't rattle around in a bag.

How does the cry sensor work?

A built-in sensor listens for your baby's cries and automatically starts playing a soothing sound to help settle them back down, without you needing to get up in the night.

Does it need batteries?

No, it has a rechargeable lithium battery built in, so you just plug in the USB-C cable to top it up and it runs for weeks between charges.

Can it turn off on its own?

Yes, there's a built-in timer with 30, 60 and 90 minute settings, so it switches itself off quietly once your baby has drifted off.

Will it fit on a pram or travel cot?

Yes, the flexible strap and clip ring let you hang it from a cot rail, pram bar, car seat handle or changing bag, so it travels easily wherever you go.

Well made and easy to clean

The shell wipes down easily after sticky little hands have been all over it, which matters more than I expected. Sound quality is clearer than I thought it would be for something this size. Our 1 year old now points at it when she wants it switched on.

Great for the car too

We clip it to the car seat handle for longer journeys and it keeps our little one calm far better than the radio ever did. Battery life is impressive, lasted a whole weekend away without needing a top up. Would happily buy as a present for other parents.

Simple controls even half asleep

At 3am you don't want to be fiddling with complicated settings and this one is dead simple, one button for sound, one for light, one for timer. Our baby responds well to the white noise setting especially. Solidly made for the price.

Soothes our daughter within minutes

She was a restless sleeper for the first few months and this has genuinely helped, especially the ocean wave sound. We like that it clips onto the cot so there's no cable trailing anywhere near her. Would absolutely buy again for a second child.

Good value for what you get

Compared this to a couple of pricier options and honestly can't tell the difference in sound quality or build. The cry sensor and timer alone make it worth it, and the portability means it comes with us to the in-laws every weekend. No regrets.

Great but took a few nights to adjust

Our son wasn't keen on the new sounds for the first two or three nights but soon settled into it and now reaches for it himself when it's bedtime. The light could be slightly brighter for middle of the night nappy changes, otherwise very happy with it.

Handy USB-C charging

Glad it charges with the same cable as everything else in the house rather than needing odd batteries. We top it up once every couple of weeks and it never seems to run low overnight. The owl design was a hit with our daughter as she got a bit older too.

Exactly what we needed for naps

Use it mainly for daytime naps to block out noise from the rest of the house and it works a treat. The timer means it doesn't run the whole nap accidentally draining the battery. Simple, does what it promises.

Sturdy little thing

Dropped it off the changing table by accident in the first week and it still works perfectly, no cracks or issues. The buttons have a nice tactile click so you know you've pressed them properly in the dark. Our 10 month old has slept better since we started using it.

Three month old loves the lullabies

We cycle through the white noise and lullaby settings depending on the time of day and our little one seems to have a preference for the rain sound at bedtime. Really simple controls, my husband worked it out without reading the manual. Would recommend to any new parent.

Good gift for new parents

Got this for my sister when her son was born and she's mentioned several times how much she relies on it. The cry sensor means she doesn't have to rush in at every small noise. Looks cute sitting on the shelf too, not like a clunky baby monitor.

Our twins both have one now

Bought one for each of our twins after trying a single one first with great results. The night light is soft enough that it doesn't disturb the other if one wakes slightly. Easy to wipe clean too which matters with two babies around.

Does the job, strap could be sturdier

The functions all work well, especially the auto cry response, but the fabric strap looks like it'll wear out before the machine does given how often we hang it off the pram. Not a dealbreaker, just something to keep an eye on.

Bought a second one for nursery

We liked our first one so much we bought a second for the childminder's. Both owls get used daily and the battery life is genuinely weeks, not days like some other things we've tried. Easy to recommend to other parents at baby group.

Perfect size for a nappy bag

Small and light enough that it lives in the changing bag permanently now, we use it in the car and at the grandparents' house. Charges quickly and the clip ring is sturdy. Our daughter responds to the heartbeat sound best out of all 30.

Works well, small mark on the back

The sound machine itself does what it says and my little one does seem to settle quicker with it on. Mine had a small scuff on the back out of the box, nothing that affects how it works but a little disappointing on a new item. Still happy enough to keep using it every night.

Timer is a nice touch

We set the 60 minute timer so it switches off once she's properly asleep rather than running all night. Simple to use, the buttons on the front are easy to find even in the dark. No complaints after two months of nightly use.

The cry sensor actually works

I was sceptical about the cry detection but it does pick up on genuine crying rather than every little grumble. My 4 month old has started sleeping longer stretches since we started using it. The owl face is sweet too, makes it feel less like a gadget in the nursery.

Took it on holiday with no issues

We took this abroad for the first time with our toddler and it was brilliant, small enough to fit in the hand luggage and the strap meant it hung off the travel cot easily. Battery lasted the whole week on one charge. Would buy again as a gift.

Great sound machine, light is a bit dim

Really pleased with the 30 sound options, we rotate between rain and white noise depending on her mood. The only downside is the night light is quite soft, which is lovely for sleeping but not much use if you need to actually see what you're doing in the night. Still a good buy overall.

Clips straight onto the cot rail

The clip and strap mean it hangs right on the cot bars rather than taking up space on the shelf. We use the ocean sound every night and our son is out within ten minutes. Build feels solid for something this size.

Settles our 7 month old in minutes

Bought this for our 7 month old who was waking every couple of hours and the cry sensor genuinely kicks in before she's properly upset. The night light is just bright enough to check on her without switching the big light on. Charges fast on USB-C too, which is handy as I always forget to plug things in.
