Plastic with see-through sides and a ball inside.

None. The cube is entirely mechanical.

AGE AND SAFETY
The maker unfortunately gives no age limit. The cube contains a loose ball behind the see-through sides, and if the cube breaks the ball is small enough to be swallowed. We'd recommend it from about 6 years. Note that some of the maker's photos show very young children, which we don't think is a fair picture.

CARE
Wipe with a dry cloth. Don't put it in water.
How does it work?

The sides of the cube turn like a classic twisting cube. Inside, a small ball runs through a maze, and the passages join up in new ways every time the sides turn. The task is to get the ball from the start all the way through.
What age is it for?

The maker doesn't give an age, which is a shame. We'd recommend from about 6 years: the task needs patience and planning, and the cube contains a loose ball behind see-through sides. It doesn't belong with a child who still puts things in their mouth.
Is it hard?

Harder than an ordinary maze and easier than solving a twisting cube completely. You need both to see where the ball has to go and to understand how a turn changes the route. Most people get through the first time in a few minutes, and keep going because it's never the same.
Does it need batteries?

No. The cube is entirely mechanical: no electronics, no lights and no sound. It can be used anywhere and can't run out.
