Materials, care and size

MATERIALS
BPA-free, non-toxic plastic.

SIZE
68 cm in total: the shower head and neck about 20 cm, the middle section about 16 cm and the pump about 20 cm.

PUTTING IT UP
Suction cups on the back. They hold best on a completely smooth, clean surface - the inside of the bath, a tiled wall or a glass door.

POWER
The pump is electric, but the maker gives neither the battery type nor how many. Email us before you order if you want them ready.

HOW IT WORKS
The pump goes down in the bath water, the giraffe sticks to the wall, and you press the star-shaped button, so water runs up through the neck and out of the shower head.

CARE
Take it down after the bath and let it drip dry, so water doesn't sit in the tube.

SAFETY
Use it with an adult nearby, like all play in and around water.
How does it work?

The pump sits down in the bath water and draws it up through the bendy neck to the shower head. You start it with a star-shaped button on the giraffe's body, which small children work out for themselves very quickly.
Does it need batteries?

The pump needs power, but the maker gives neither the type nor how many, and we won't guess on an electrical product that sits in bath water. Email us before you order and we'll check it on a real one.
Do the suction cups hold well?

On a smooth, clean surface, yes. The maker makes a point of the strong suction cups. On rough walls and across grout lines they won't hold. Wipe the surface and press the air out from under each cup when you put the giraffe up.
Can it be used for anything besides washing hair?

Yes, and in practice that's often where it comes into its own. Plenty of children take over the shower head and spray it around, and it becomes a bath toy. That is exactly what makes water on the hair less frightening next time.
